Crowning Duties

It has been four weeks since my win as Miss Hampshire, and yesterday I was honoured to crown Miss Hampshire 2015 first runner up and the now Miss Basingstoke Nicola Ashcroft at The Hampshire Court Hotel.

Attending was Mark Young, Mr Hampshire, (who also ‘sashed’ Nicola) and his girlfriend Elisia. The Mayor of Basingstoke presented Nicola with her trophy and also gave a lovely speech about her.

Also in attendance were a number of Nicola’s friends and family, and photographing the event was Paul Carroll. To view the photo album from the crowning, see here.

Nicola is such a hard worker and I’m sure she’ll breeze through the semi-finals in July. I’m looking forward to seeing what she gets up this year during her reign, and I am hoping she will be joining me at the national finals of Miss England later this year – fingers crossed!

Thank you to the Hampshire Court Hotel for hosting us and putting on some nice fizz too. James, the manager looked after us so well, and the hospitality of the staff was brilliant.

Also thank you to Miss Hampshire organiser and all-round superstar Paula Langley for putting yesterday together and for giving Hampshire the opportunity of possibly having two women representing the county at a national level very soon!
